Open any wellness app and it wants something from you today. A streak to protect. A card to draw. A notification that arrives whether you're ready or not. The implicit promise is that more frequency equals more change — that if one affirmation a day is good, then a fresh one every morning must be better.

It's a reasonable-sounding idea. It's also, for most people, backwards.

The problem with daily volume
